By MikeBloomberg.com - MAR. 08, 2012

In Chicago today for a global C40 event, Mayor Bloomberg joined Mayor Emanuel and the Sierra Club's Jack Darin in visiting one of the two coal plants that recently announced their closing. The two Chicago plants were the 99th and 100 plants that have closed or committed to close since January 2010. Members of the local community were on hand to share their thanks and Mayors Bloomberg and Emanuel discussed the benefits of these closings to communities and the hope that more cities in the US will follow Chicago's lead in moving Beyond Coal.
